Salmon Eye
“To feed the future we need to look below the surfaces” – Salmon Eye

In the summer of 2023, I composed and produced a full soundtrack for the immersive Norwegian restaurant Iris, located inside the floating art installation Salmon Eye. With the experience lasting between 4-6 hours, a large body of music was created. This included music (and soundscapes) for dining areas, a boat ride, two docks, toilets, an elevator, a boat house, a terrace and finally a video presentation in an installation room.
The general vision was to create a soundtrack that reflects both the futurism of the Salmon Eye architecture and the beautiful natural surroundings of Rosendal. The music inside Salmon eye sounds modern, futuristic, and electronic, with wavy ambient motions reflecting the buildings location on the water. Music outside the actual building uses more acoustic and organic elements, reflecting the surrounding natural environments. This timbral difference between music outside and inside, serves to enhance the level immersion as the enter guest the building.
